Friendly Halloween Decors

Updated: Oct 17, 2022

My kids don't like the scary part of Halloween. They like the candy part of the tradition (same kids same...). If your kids (and you) are not a fan of scary things, these are 3 ideas to cutify Halloween that my kids are into these days:

Thinking about the ghosts and goblins in a different way:

Costumed Ghosts / Monster Painting

The idea behind this to make ghosts less scary and they just like us. They want to participate in the fun part of Halloween, dressing up. My kids love these so much, they have kept painting the same thing over and over with different costumes lately.

Sailor and a mermaid. Ghosts can have fun too.

Monsters... but Art

This is really for me. I want something that is friendly but I can hang on the wall of my little office. This is just a matter of paper, paint and frame. Everything looks so much better in a frame, don't you think?

Wet / Dry paint technique is used here. All supplies can be found on our shop.

Craft Mummy

This project is a great non-painting project.

The main idea is to wrap anything with white materials, like old sheets and gauze. These tend to work better than toilet paper. Then glue googly eyes on top of it. If you're not a big cereal eater like us, small amazon boxes will also work great or any glass or plastic bottles.

Glass bottles painted to look like orange pumpkin, green monsters and wrapped with gauze to look like mummy.
How cute are these bottles?

Eyes Everywhere ... but make it cute

You can either get googly eyes, or...

For an easy diy: get watercolor paper 2 kinds, 90lbs and 140lbs. Use the heavier paper for the backing, and paint the lighter paper with black and add 3 dots for twinkle. Cut both in an oval shape one on top of another and glue them. Do this 2 times or just 1 depended on what kind of monster you'd like.
